Without a heatsink, these components can handle 0.3 watts while staying at or below 55°C when the surrounding temperature is 25°C. At approximately 10 volts, they draw 250mA. A 42-gram heatsink designed for three LEDs can cool them to 55°C when each LED operates at roughly 1 watt. Therefore, a heatsink of around 15 grams could potentially manage 1 watt at 55°C (at 9.3V and 108mA).
